So, in my classes, I'm doing an exersize for the next few weeks. I'm giving my students a fake host family and I'm going to put them into various situations so they can use their English. I spent a lot of time fleshing out their host family so they'd seem like real people. Pic Related.

So, in my last class, I put my students in a hypothetical environment and situation. I took some pictures of a Waffle House as well as it's menu and told them that the Biggums family was taking them out to dinner at a nice restaurant. I then had them order food and give examples of small talk. Tomorrow's lesson will involve another hypothetical situation, "You wake up at 2am because Tyron and his brother Raykwon are being loud downstairs. You go see what they're doing and see they're playing a game with dice and drinking very large bottles of beer. What do you say?"

Today we did a lesson on Stereotypes. We discussed what the word meant and then they gave me examples. Some of the best answers: Americans are outgoing. Black people are Loud and rude.
